When one needs a teary-eyed moment…

March 11, 2010 § 2 Comments

A 2007 modern dance competition in Beijing, China, presented a very insipirational, very real and the most beautiful performance of a handicapped couple. This was a regular competition, the first time a handicapped couple ever entered any, so they had no priviledges, no easy-ways, just limitations, boundaries and a really strong will!!! And it’s only fair to say, that they danced beautifly. As if they had both arms and legs. And even if we judged them as any other couple, they would still dance beautifully. A big congratulations to Ma Li and Zhai Xiaowei, for they have won the silver medal!! 🙂 🙂 And a strong reminder to all of us, how life is precious, how we don’t appreciate it enough, how we should charish special moments and never let anything bring us down or let it get to us too much.

I think I’ve posted this clip before, but it’s worth seeing it multiple times…. Stay strong, stay positive, stay optimistic and always believe! Think pink! 🙂

What I loved the most about this performance was a certain moment, where they were joined together and they literary fulfilled their missing body parts. It sounds a bit scary but it was a beautiful moment… they stood one in front of the other… where her arm was missing his was to fill the emptiness and where his leg was missing, there was hers to fulfill him. A really strong impression of joined forces, mutual understanding, helping eachother, understanding and care. I weep even when I just write this…
